Many come to vacation in Myrtle Beach for the beautiful beaches, fun nightlife, or a little R&R. But we know everyone’s favorite part of vacation is the FOOD! So, we’ve put together our favorite restaurants along the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk (just a few minutes drive or walk from South Bay Inn & Suites) that you will want to check out while you’re here on vacation.

If you’re looking for a trendy, laid-back, with a beautiful beachfront view, you’ll want to come to Riptydz! Riptydz is a new restaurant on the boardwalk in Myrtle Beach that serves a variety of causal fair. From burgers, tacos, and seafood you have options that will please any age in your group. They even have a cocktail named after Myrtle Beach’s very own Chanticleer.

 

2| Dirty Don’s Oyster Bar & Grill

Head north down the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk from South Bay Inn & Suites and sit down for a casual bite for lunch in your swimsuit. Dirty Don’s has the best southern fried seafood baskets! If you’re watching your waistline they also have steamed seafood as well. Looking to just grab a drink and appetizer? Try their classic vacation daiquiris. Happy Hour is from 4-6pm.

A little more traditional, sit-down style restaurant on the Boardwalk, Pier 14 offers a beautiful oceanfront view and a delicious menu. They feature some fantastic seafood options like fresh grouper, flounder, and salmon. As well as, options like crab cakes, burgers, and ribeye! This is a great place for a romantic dinner for two. After dinner, be sure to take a stroll down the pier and enjoy the ocean breeze. 

 

4| The Bowery

Looking for a Myrtle Beach landmark – check out The Bowery! It’s been open since 1944 and serves pub-style food and drinks like burgers, beers, and baskets. What makes The Bowery a hotspot is their live house band that plays at 8:30 pm every night. Trivia fact: the well-known country band, Alabama, started as The Bowery’s house band in 1973!

If you’re looking for Mexican cuisine with flair and a great oceanfront view, Banditos Cantina is where you want to be. Banditos is located on the second floor of the newly built complex THE Blvd. They have an amazing menu filled with delicious bites like tacos, burritos, burrito bowls, and more! Sit in their outdoor seating & lounge area and enjoy one of their handcrafted margaritas like the Boardwalk Margarita with housemade cilantro salt.

Located one floor above Banditos is one of the coolest restaurants and bars on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk Tin Roof. They offer great bar food, a laid back environment, gorgeous ocean views, and always have a killer band playing on the roof! Their self proclaimed “Better than Bar Food” menu includes items like Loaded Tots, Pimento Cheesesteak, Voodoo Grinder, Nashville Hot Chicken, and all kinds of gourmet burgers.

 

8| LandShark Bar & Grill

Serving great food and great beer, all you need to bring to make the perfect night at LandShark Bar & Grill are your great friends! LandShark hosts events throughout the year as well as happy hour Monday – Friday  3-6pm. Try one of their signature double stacked burgers like the Sriracha Crunch Burger, Caribbean Burger, or LandShark Burger (the classic).

Their restaurant offers a unique setting with freshly made-to-order sushi and burgers named after artists like Picasso. This burger is a beef patty with blue cheese, marinated red onions, lettuce, tomato, and blue cheese sauce. Or try one of their nitrogen-infused cocktails from the full nitrogen bar!

Inspired by the Mediterranean cuisine and cocktails, 8th Avenue Tiki Bar & Grill is another great dining choice along the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. Their menu offers an eclectic mix of burgers, pizza, salads, and more, but where they really excel is their specialty cocktails! Try a hand-crafted beverage like the Havana Cabana, Watermelon Margarita, or Freaky Tiki Mai Tai. Need to cool off? They have frozen cocktails as well like the Day Dreamer with Bacardi pineapple rum, Bacardi mango rum, strawberry & banana puree, and blue curacao.

Bringing with them the relaxed vibes of the Inlet, Wicked Tuna’s newest location is located at the 2nd Avenue Pier. Wicked Tuna has a motto of “Hook to Plate” serving fresh local seafood in their beautifully creative dishes. Guests can enjoy made-to-order sushi, tuna pizza, and stuffed flounder – just to name a few. Wicked Tuna also has a creative drink menu with specialty cocktails like the Peachy Palmer which has Carolina Peach Vodka, 1233 Sweet Tea Vodka, a splash of peach puree, lemonade, and sweet tea. The Happy Hour menu features appetizers, sushi, and drinks from 4-7pm daily. 

 

12| Sharkey’s Beach Club

The closest Myrtle Beach Boardwalk Restaurant to South Bay Inn & suites is Sharkey’s Beach Club. No membership is required at this oceanfront restaurant to enjoy the delicious seafood or breathtaking views. Sharkey’s has an outdoor bar and patio as well as indoor dining, still with amazing views. Their menu features items like fried green tomatoes, hot crab dip, and filet mignon. Sharkey’s drink specials include $6, $8, $9 cocktails plus the classics. Try their house special, the Hula Hooch Bucket for $15 which comes with a souvenir cup.

Yes, Hurricanes Daiquiri Bar & Grill has some amazing bites like their chili cheese beer-battered french fries and Hurricane Burger (a burger topped with jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, grilled onions, and spicy BBQ sauce). But the show-stopper at Hurricanes is the huge selection of frozen daiquiris available on tap. You can even mix and match flavors! Hurricanes is located next to the Gay Dolphin gift shop. 

 

14| Peaches Corner

Just up from The Bowery, you will discover Peaches Corner, a family-owned diner that first opened its doors in 1937. Peaches is best known for their footlong hot dog, the Peaches Burger, and ice cream treats. Be sure to check out their website for their current hours; winter and summer hours vary.

No restaurant list is complete without a delicious pizzeria, and NY Pizza Kitchen is one of the best! Their menu has a variety of pizzas, calzones, and of course NY style cheesecake. They also offer American classics including a large selection of hot and cold subs. NY Pizza Kitchens sells whole pies or by the slice, for a late-night snack. Dine-in, carry-out, and delivery are available.
