If you’re looking for thrills during your Myrtle Beach vacation, look no further than the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk rides. South Bay Inn & Suites is one of the newest resorts on the Grand Strand and we are conveniently located on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. You can walk from our indoor waterpark to the adrenaline-pumping rides right on the boardwalk! Check them out below.
If you’re looking for the best view of the entire Grand Strand, hop on the SkyWheel. The SkyWheel has climate-controlled gondolas that take you 200 feet in the air for an incredible view of the beach. Up to 6 people can ride together starting at $14 per adult and $9 per child. Special packages and VIP rides are available for the SkyWheel. The SkyWheel is located next to LandShark Bar & Grill, one of the best Myrtle Beach Boardwalk restaurants.
Myrtle Beach Zipline Adventures & Adrenaline Matrix
Another great adrenaline-pumping view of the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk can be found at Myrtle Beach Zipline Adventures! Beyond their 600-foot zipline that takes thrill-seekers from one end of Pavilion Park to the other, they have an obstacle and ropes course called the Adrenaline Matrix that includes a 50-foot free-fall jump. Zipline adventures start $39.95. Packages for ziplining and the ropes courses are available.
Just right off the boardwalk and located at 300 Ocean Boulevard you’ll find a family fun activity, Family Kingdom. Family Kingdom has thrill rides and kid-friendly rides as well. Open Thursday through Sunday you and your family can enjoy all the attractions with an unlimited ride pass for $29.45 per person, or purchase tickets for rides at $1.15 per ticket (most rides take 3-5 tickets).
Get shot 300 feet into the air with a friend on this thrilling ride at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Located at 12th Ave N and Ocean Boulevard, each ride costs around $26 per person and lasts about a minute long. Video of your adventure is available for purchase as a keepsake of your wild ride.
Other Thrill Rides
While the SlingShot is probably the most well-known thrill ride on the Boardwalk, there are a few more you will want to make time for. Next to the SlingShot, you’ll find four more fun-filled rides to enjoy. Air Strike is an eight-person ride that sends you spinning and rotating through the air. (This ride is similar to the Skyscraper ride that used to be on the Boardwalk near Family Kingdom.)
Sky Fall is a tower that carries up to eight riders 140 feet in the air before dropping them to the ground. The next ride is the perfect thrill for larger groups. Up to 12 riders sit back to back in a circle as Sun Dance spins around and upside down. Shooting Star is the last right ride and resembles a giant swing. Up to four riders are seated back to back as they swing back and forth going higher and higher.
