Myrtle Beach Spring Break Activities
The biggest attraction in Myrtle Beach is the ocean, but during Spring Break, the ocean may still be too cold to swim in. For the days during your vacation that you’d like to put on your bathing suit and take a dip, consider heading downstairs and enjoying a day at South Bay’s indoor/outdoor waterpark and pool.
South Bay has the Boardwalk’s only waterpark with two waterslides, a kid’s splash pad, a lazy river, and three hot tubs in addition to their large multi-depth pool. During Spring Break, the pool area will still be enclosed (walls are removed in May), but you will have plenty of sunshine with our fully glass walls and roof.
South Bay Inn & Suites also has a Game Room and Fitness Center on the lobby level. Challenge your friends and family to a round of pool, ping pong, or foosball in the Game Room. You can work up a sweat in our Fitness Center using one of many pieces of workout equipment or free weights.
When you are ready to get out and explore Myrtle Beach this Spring Break, we have a list of the best activities for you.
Myrtle Beach Boardwalk
Just steps from South Bay’s back door you will find the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. Filled with shops, restaurants, attractions, and rides. You can spend hours exploring the 1.2 miles of oceanfront boardwalk bliss.
Satisfy your hunger at one of the Boardwalk Restaurants serving up delicious seafood, Mexican, and pizza – just to name a few. See Myrtle Beach from new heights on one of the Boardwalk Rides like the 200-foot tall SkyWheel or the 100 mph SlingShot.
Beyond the high-flying rides, Attractions on the Boardwalk include several Ripley’s Believe It or Not! venues, a few arcades, and the 2nd Ave pier, which is great for fishing. Boardwalk Shopping features beachwear stores, the famous Gay Dolphin Gift Shop, a candy store, and more.
As we’ve said, jumping into the ocean during Spring Break may be too cold for many people. The water temperatures average 58° in March and 64° in April. This doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy a few watersports during your Myrtle Beach Spring Break. Here are our favorites!
Myrtle Beach has a variety of live theaters in the area to enjoy. You can walk the plank at Pirate’s Voyage Dinner and Show. Guests will see high diving, acrobatics, a live seal, and more while they chow down on a dinner fit for a pirate.
Become a knight for a night at Medieval Times. You’ll become part of the show as you watch knights battle and joust to be crowned champion while you enjoy dinner with the Queen.
There’s no better musical theater show in town than The Carolina Opry. Two shows are running during Spring Break. Time Warp takes you back with hits performed from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. The House Show features current hits and originals by top performers from around the Nation.
Also, check out the live shows running at the Alabama Theatre, GTS Theatre, and Theatre of the Republic.
